June is a great time to visit Hilo because it’s warm, lush, and full of opportunities for outdoor sightseeing—just plan for quick rain showers. You can start with the classic rainforest spots like Rainbow Falls and the Wailuku River/Banyan Drive area, then spend a half day at Akaka Falls State Park to see dramatic waterfalls surrounded by greenery. If you’re up for a day trip, Volcanoes National Park can be especially atmospheric in the mist, and the island’s steam and crater views are often impressive (just check conditions and closures). In between showers, enjoy indoor-friendly options such as the Pacific Tsunami Museum and local exhibits, or relax with a garden-style stroll that lets you enjoy the “rainforest feel” Hilo is known for. Overall, the month of June supports a truly vibrant landscape—everything looks greener, waterfalls often look fuller, and it’s easy to mix outdoor adventures with relaxed breaks.

Aloha and welcome to the Cary Ichinose State Farm Agency. We are in the Hank Correa Building across the street from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles office.

I was born and raised in beautiful Hilo and graduated from Hilo High School. I served in the U.S. Air Force (late 80's) and then earned my Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. In my spare time, I enjoy my time with family, playing music, and traveling.
